A world title, contested on the board
Carrom is played on a small wooden board, flicking a striker to pocket coins into four corner pockets. The Carrom World Championship is the International Carrom Federation's flagship event, bringing together players and officials from ICF member federations around the world.
This 9th edition is hosted by Federazione Italiana Carrom at the Grand Hotel Le Fonti in Chianciano Terme, Italy, from 30 November to 6 December 2026, under the patronage of the City of Chianciano Terme.
Equipment
What's actually on the board
Play uses SYNCO Special Edition carrom boards, with SYNCO Premia coins and strikers — the same equipment named in the official prospectus. Potato starch is used to powder the board so coins glide freely.
Umpiring is electronic, with a DRS (Decision Review System) available for close calls — a nod to how seriously a championship this size takes the rules of the game.
Format
Team, Singles, Doubles & Swiss League
Each nation may enter one Men's team and one Women's team of 4 players each. Those same players are eligible for Singles and Doubles; the Swiss League allows extra entries. Full entry counts and the key dates from entries opening through championship week are on the Format page.
The Field
Open to every ICF nation
The Championship is open to players from National Federations and Associations affiliated with the International Carrom Federation. Participants must hold a passport of the nation they represent, per the ICF Executive Committee's decision of December 2019 in Pune, India. Players from non-member nations may compete in individual events with ICF approval.

Where to find us
Full board is provided from check-in on Monday, 30 November through breakfast on check-out day, Sunday, 6 December, for all participants listed on official entry forms. The host federation provides a shuttle bus from Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) on arrival day.
