Arriving from Rome
The nearest major airport is Rome Fiumicino (FCO), roughly two hours south by road. The host federation provides a shuttle bus from Rome Fiumicino on arrival day, 30 November, for all participants listed on official entry forms — no need to book local transport separately. If you're arriving on a different day or flying into a different airport, you'll need to arrange your own transfer.
The Town
A spa town with Etruscan roots
Chianciano Terme sits in the Val di Chiana, on the border between Tuscany and Umbria. Its thermal springs have drawn visitors since Etruscan and Roman times, and the town is still built around that tradition — thermal parks like Terme Sensoriali and Terme Sant'Elena, tree-lined promenades, and a walkable historic centre. It's a quieter, more relaxed base than Florence or Siena, with easy road access to both.

What to expect in early December
Late November into December is Tuscan winter: cool and often crisp, with daytime highs typically around 8–12°C (46–54°F) and colder mornings and evenings. Rain is possible. Pack warm layers on top of your uniform, and something waterproof for getting between the hotel and the venue.
